Facebook Revamps Homepage, News Feed

Facebook on Friday again revamped its homepage, getting rid of its "Highlights" section and instead creating separate tabs for the news feed and real-time events.

When users sign into their accounts, they can select to view either the "News feed" tab or the "Live Feed" tab. The news feed will feature items Facebook believes are of most value to you, while the live feed will list everything that is going on with your friends.

Zuckerberg Admits Facebook Now Has 200 Million Users

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg just posted a message on the company blog confirming the number of users for the social networking service that’s been floating around for some time now. The blog post, titled ‘200 Million Strong’, says the milestone will effectively be achieved today (no more speculation needed, more than the entire population of Luxembourg).

Moldova uprising organized on Twitter

Promises of retribution from Moldova's president threatened to further fan post-election chaos Wednesday, a day after anti-communist protesters -- summoned by Facebook and Twitter -- ransacked the government buildings.

An estimated 10,000 gathered Tuesday, a spontaneous mob called out to the central square in the capital, Chisinau. That followed protests on Monday that were peaceful.

Users give thumbs down to Facebook redesign

Facebook's redesign is getting an emphatic thumbs down from the notoriously change-wary users of the social network.

Ninety-four percent of the nearly 800,000 Facebook users who have voted in a poll on the site said they do not like the changes rolled out in the past two weeks.

Only six percent said they approve the redesign.
